30 years is a long time, but it was worth the wait
Liverpool Football Club are champions of England for the first time in three decades, after Manchester City’s defeat to Chelsea on Thursday evening confirmed what we all knew was coming for months.
Had it not been for the coronavirus-enforced hiatus which forced a three month-break in Premier League, Liverpool would have been crowned champions months ago, but after 30 years of waiting, another 100 days wasn’t going to matter much.
Jurgen Klopp’s have been the best team in England by a considerable distance this season, and his side are arguably the most dominant champions that England has ever seen in a single season.
Jubilant supporters to the streets of Liverpool and gathered outside Anfield to celebrate a title victory which has been years in the making.

Few supporters would have dared to dream just how quickly Jurgen Klopp would return this club to what many fans believe is their rightful place at the top of English football, but year-on-year, season-on-season, the German coach has improved this team.
From their defeat in the Champions League final in 2018 and returning to win it the following, to their valiant effort in the face of a brilliant Manchester City team last season and returning this season to dominate entirely, Klopp has helped this team on a near constant upward trajectory during his time at the club.
For now, Liverpool will celebrate the title, but with their dominance this season and the quality in their side, few would bet against the idea that this may be the start of yet another dynasty for the club.
