We’ve all seen the clip
Maradona is there, in his Napoli tracksuit, socks down to his ankles and hair ruffled like a cherub who’s escaped heaven for a night on the town.
The music in the stadium is blaring, fans are filling up, and eyes are only one one person. Maradona has the ball and proceeds to do keepie-uppies to the music playing on the stadium speakers.
It’s in time, it’s funky, it’s just absolutely gold. Every touch seems to go with the beats of the song playing, every flourish and flick equal parts ridiculous and necessary.
Frankly, it’s one of the best football clips ever. However, it’s still probably not as good as this.
This being a clip which the Spain international team Twitter account posted yesterday showing Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara and Manchester City midfielder Rodri taking part in a cross-field game of keepie-uppies.
The accuracy of the passes is mind blowing, but then you see the contr…. and you know what? Just watch it for yourself. It’s ridiculous.
Thiago and Rodri here, in a training ground kickabout which, frankly, is better than that Maradona clip everyone goes wild over pic.twitter.com/txSQMUqzJo
