Lucas Leiva’s Liverpool career has always been reminiscent of Disneyworld’s Tower of Terror.
It’s been up, it’s been down, it’s been full of nervy moments but when all is said and done it’s been an enjoyable experience for just about everyone.
The Brazilian has often been linked with a move away from Merseyside and the rumours have been strong enough this summer as Klopp looks to re-adjust his squad, but with one week to go before the transfer window closes it seems like Lucas is set to stay at Anfield.
However, renowned Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce fell foul of Leiva earlier on Tuesday afternoon when he wrote in a report that “Klopp blocked a potential transfer to Galatasaray for the Brazilian midfielder earlier this month after insisting he needed him to stay put.”
“Unless Lucas pushes for a move prior to next week’s deadline then he will remain at Anfield for the final year of his existing contract.”
Unhappy with the story Pearce is telling, Lucas admonished the journo on Twitter saying “Can you have more responsibility when you involve my name? You putting me against the fans for something I’ve nothing to do,” presumably implying that if a move does go through it won’t necessarily be because Lucas has pushed for it.

Liverpool fans have been quick to take the player’s side in the argument, showing their support for a player who is coming up to 10 years at Anfield and has played more than 300 games for the club.
