Paul purchased the Grade 10 Pikachu Illustrator card last year
Logan Paul wore his famous £3.8 million Pokemon Card to Wrestlemania at the weekend, with the YouTube star making his WWE debut.
The 27-year-old purchased the PSA Grade 10 Pikachu Illustrator card in Dubai in July 2021. By doing so, Paul broke the record for the most expensive Pokemon trading card sold at a private sale after spending a staggering $5,275,000 (£3,862,424) on the item.
WWE debut at Wrestlemania
While most people would, understandably, be nervous about wearing an item that expensive out in public, the YouTuber-turned-boxer opted to wear the card as he made his WWE wrestling debut at WrestleMania 38 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.
As Paul entered the area alongside The Mix – who he teamed up with for a tag team match against Rey and Dominik Mysterio – the Pokemon card could be seen hanging from his neck.
Prior to his debut, the YouTuber posted a photo of himself wearing the item on Instagram, writing: “WRESTLEMANIA TONIGHT”.

In order to get his hands on the expensive card, Paul exchanged a PSA Grade 9 Pikachu Illustrator card worth $1,275,000 that he had purchased from sports card collector Matt Allen in Como, Italy.
Paul breaks the record
According to Guinness World Records, the Grade 9 card plus $4,000,000 equalled the cost of the sought-after Grade 10 Pikachu Illustrator card.
Speaking to Guinness World Records, Paul said: “The Pikachu Illustrator is one of the rarest and most highly coveted Pokémon cards in the world.
“Only 39 were given out to Illustration contest winners in 1998, and this was a purchase for the only one in the world that has been graded a perfect ’10.'”
Paul also stated that he had been trying to break a record for his ‘whole life’, adding: “I applied for so many records and the fact that I finally got one after my first [WWE] win ever?
“I come back to the locker room and I get a second win right away?”
