Louis van Gaal has confirmed another injury blow to Manchester United ahead of their Champions League game with Wolfsburg.
Midfielder Michael Carrick is unlikely to be fit for the game, after being substituted in United’s league victory over Sunderland at the weekend.
Carrick is one of the more experienced members of United’s squad and one of two survivors of their 2008 Champions League success.
With Luke Shaw a long-term injury, Carrick joins Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia on a list of doubts for the game.
Having lost their opener to PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United will be looking to pick up their first points since returning to the Champions League.
