Man United fans won’t want to see Javier Hernandez’s strike-rate since leaving Old Trafford

Louis van Gaal isn’t likely to admit that he’s made a mistake but the stats don’t lie.

Manchester United recorded yet another 0-0 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday and the lack of striking options were blindingly obvious.

With Martial the only recognised striker available to the Dutchman, United never really looked like breaking the deadlock against West Ham.

And when Van Gall inevitably checks his phone on his way to his car, we don’t think he’ll exactly enjoy reading the scores from the Championship and Bundesliga.

That’s because James Wilson, who was allowed to go on loan to Brighton in spite of United’s lack of goals, scored for the Seagulls to spark a second-half comeback against Charlton.

Javier Hernandez, who was sold to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, continued his fantastic goalscoring streak by finding the net for the 11th time in his last 10 games in their defeat at Hertha Berlin.
