Hernandez and his partner were not allowed to see each other, but went on a honeymoon anyway
Lucas Hernandez has been summoned for prison sentencing in Madrid after breaching a restraining order.
The case dates back to 2017, when the French international had an altercation with his wife, Amelia de la Osa Lorente, in the street. Both of them were prohibited from going within 500 metres of each other or making any contact for six months, as well as each being served 31 days of community service.
The pair ignored the restraining order and decided to go on their honeymoon. The Spanish authorities became aware of this when they returned from Miami and landed at Adolfo Suárez-Madrid Barajas airport in Madrid.
Because Hernandez had been notified of his restraining order by this point, he was detained by the 3rd Court of Violence Against Women, before later being released.
His partner had not been notified of the restraining order, and so was not detained.
Having breached its terms, Hernandez was then sentenced to one year in jail. A request from his lawyers for the sentence to be replaced with community service was declined due to the fact he had already violated the terms of his initial community service.
Spanish prosecutors are now summoning the Bayern Munich defender to enter jail voluntarily for breaching the restraining order, not for committing the initial offence.
He has been instructed to be in Madrid on October 19 so he can choose which jail he spends the sentence inside.
The 32nd Criminal Court in Madrid issued a formal notice, saying: “Mr. Lucas François Bernard Hernández is summoned to appear in this Court on October 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in order to be personally required to enter prison voluntarily within ten days, in the penitentiary centre of his choosing.”
As of October 13, Bayern claim to have no knowledge of this case, despite Hernandez being informed a month beforehand.
