Appears to be unreal shithousery from Lukaku and Inter Milan
Romelu Lukaku will wear the number 90 for Inter Milan next season, and his decision to do so has sparked conversation amongst fans.
The Belgian forward has re-joined the Serie A giants on a season-long loan after an underwhelming campaign with Chelsea, managing just 15 goals in 44 games following a club record £97.5 million move last summer.
Inter paid a loan fee of £6.9 million to secure the 29-year-old’s signature, which includes an additional £3.5 million in bonuses if they win the Scudetto.
Not long after his San Siro return was confirmed, it was announced that Lukaku would wear the number 90 jersey for the 2022/23 campaign.
“Romelu Lukaku is back in black and blue,” a statement on their official website said.
“After arriving in Milan and popping into Inter HQ to meet president Steven Zhang, the Belgium striker spoke to Inter TV before revealing his new shirt number for the coming campaign: No.90.”

How did social media react?
The former Manchester United striker’s decision to don the unusually high number got people speculating on social media, with many suggesting that he was making a subtle dig at Chelsea.
One Twitter user said: “Someone said Inter gave Lukaku the number 90 to represent the profit the club made and I’ve been dying laughing since.”

Lukaku wore the number nine shirt during his last spell in Italy, but former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko – who is expected to remain at the San Siro – currently possesses the No.9 jersey.
Lukaku ‘upset’ by Tuchel’s ‘daddy’ joke
The Belgian’s relationship with manager Thomas Tuchel was also rumoured to be strained during his time in London, which exacerbated matters for Lukaku.
This is supported by a revelation from Goal’s Chelsea correspondent, Nizaar Kinsella, who said Lukaku was left unhappy at Tuchel jokingly referring to his old Inter boss Antonio Conte as his ‘daddy’ while the pair watched a Tottenham game together.
