Manchester United’s Luke Shaw is on course to return to action before the end of this season.
Shaw suffered a horrific double leg fracture in September, but may feature for the club in May.
Such is the extent of the left-back’s progress, England manager Roy Hodgson is refusing to rule him out of his plans for this summer’s European Championships in France.
Although United have revealed nothing in the way of recent updates on when Shaw is expected back, Hodgson revealed that he was keeping close tabs on the former Southampton defender (and Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere)
“We’re still monitoring Luke Shaw – I know he’s making good progress – and we’re monitoring Jack Wilshere.
“Hopefully by May, when I really have to make a decision, they’ll be available for selection.”
United, who remain without a number of first team players, drew level on points with Manchester City on Wednesday night, although their neighbours have a game in hand.
