Within an hour of sustaining a leg break in Manchester United’s Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven, the left back was able to send a reassuring tweet.
Responding to former club Southampton, who tweeted their best wishes to their former player, Shaw expressed his thanks.
Although the defender looks set to facing a long road to full recovery, all football fans will take a crumb of comfort from the fact that the 20-year old was able to send the tweet.
