Manuel Pellegrini won’t be happy to hear this.
Manchester City have started their season in ominous fashion with two very impressive 3-0 wins over West Brom and Chelsea respectively.
The club look to have found another gear after last year’s disappointment, and have been linked with one of the top talents in Europe all summer as the final part of their summer spending.
For the last two weeks we’ve seen daily speculation linking the club to Belgian Kevin de Bruyne – currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg.
The deal, which seemed pretty much sealed for around £30million, has seemingly broken down as the former Chelsea man has revealed that he definitely won’t be leaving the German side this summer.

Although things can change at an alarming rate in the transfer window, for now at least, it appears City won’t be getting their man.
With Pedro’s deal with Manchester United apparently stalling – does this open the possibility that City could switch their focus to the Barcelona player?
