The January transfer window is open, which means it’s time to start speculating on players’ futures again.
Last year saw one of the most farcical transfer sagas of recent memory when David de Gea’s proposed move to Real Madrid fell apart seemingly because of a faxing error.
Manchester United fans were thrilled to have held onto their best player from last season and probably assumed that the Spaniard would be too hurt by Madrid’s reluctance to pull the trigger on the deal to ever want to move there again.
But the former Atletico goalkeeper kicked the rumour mill back into overdrive on Sunday night when he uploaded a new profile picture to Facebook which left a few fans wondering about where his loyalties really lie…
In case you can’t see it his new picture looks suspiciously like Real Madrid’s secondary goalkeeper kit, which many have taken to mean that De Gea may be moving to the Bernabeu after all.
Of course this is all ignoring the simple fact that De Gea has a green kit of his own at Old Trafford and also footballers don’t usually announce multi-million pound transfers through vague social media postings.
