Diego Costa may have equalised for Chelsea, but Man United fans held only one man responsible.
Jesse Lingard had put the visitors in the lead on the 61st minute with a wonderful spin and shot past Thibaut Courtois, and up until a minute into injury time, David de Gea was producing miracle saves to keep United in the lead.
But as the game headed into six minutes of added time, Memphis Depay found himself on the right flank with four teammates accompanying him in the attack.
Instead of engaging his brain and playing smart pass, or even heading to the corner flag to waste time, he played a lazy pass to Courtois.
The Chelsea keeper then instigated an attack down Memphis’ side of the pitch.
Rather than trackback and make amends for his error, the Dutch youngster strolled back to his own half at a snail’s pace. Chelsea went on to score and the United fans were understandably enraged…

Depay is dead to me. Idiot. A simple fucking pass. Mumu.

If Ferguson was still managing United, Depay, his ego and his 250,000 grand car would probably all be in a skip this time tomorrow. #mufc

Still speechless that Depay failed to square it to Morgan with this simple pass to make it 2-0 before they equalised pic.twitter.com/82ZXKYT6vF
