As expected, Jose Mourinho made plenty of changes to his Manchester United side for their Carabao Cup game at Swansea City on Tuesday night.
Still licking their wounds following their surprise first league defeat of the season at Huddersfield, Mourinho made a number of alterations to his starting XI for the game in south Wales, with youngsters Axel Tuanzebe and Scott McTominay handed their first starts of the season.
There was, however, still no room in the lineup for Luke Shaw – who only made the bench for the match.
Shaw, who has struggled to make regular appearances for the United first team since returning from a broken leg two years ago, was only named on the bench for the game – despite many fans expecting him to feature from the start.

To many United fans, Mourinho’s decision not to start the England left-back was further evidence that his days at Old Trafford may be numbered.

This is the end of Luke Shaw. He cannot even get a start in a league cup.
