So there you have it, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be suspended for the next three games after admitting an FA charge of violent conduct for elbowing Tyrone Mings.
The incident took place during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon and came minutes after Mings had appeared to stamp on the Swede’s swede head. Mings has also been charged with violent conduct as a result.
As for Ibrahimovic, United’s leading scorer this season with 26 goals, he’ll now miss the FA Cup quarter final at Chelsea this weekend, followed by league matches at Middlesbrough and at home to West Brom.
Although plenty of United fans accepted the fact that not even Zlatan can get away with elbowing someone in the face, a good number of them were still annoyed that the incident occurred after Mings’ stamp – pointing out that if the referee had dismissed the Bournemouth defender, their top scorer wouldn’t now be receiving a ban.

If the Ref sent off Mings, Zlatan elbowing Mings wouldn't even have happened.

FA rules can only retro punish off ball incidents not seen…Zlatan headed ball for goal kick ref saw it so this is a joke?

We’re sure supporters of rival clubs will feel incredibly sorry for their United counterparts.
