Manchester United may have saved themselves a ton of money by waiting for Lucas Moura.
The Brazilian international joined Paris Saint-Germain for more than £40m in 2012, with then-United manager Sir Alex Ferguson describing the fee as “quite amazing”.
But things haven’t quite gone according to plan for Lucas in Paris, and United are waiting in the wings once more.
Still just 23, the winger could move to Old Trafford for £22m – about half what PSG paid to beat off competition from the English club three-and-a-half years ago.
It’s not the striker that many United fans feel the club needs, but signing Lucas would certainly be a statement.
