The Manchester United board may be shipping some pretty heavy criticism for their failure to land Pedro but it appears that one of their key summer signings was an absolute steal.
Bastian Schweinsteiger has only made a handful of substitute appearances for his new club but he already looks at home in the Premier League.
And now it seems that Bayern Munich let the German World Cup winner go for a bargain price
It was widely reported that the midfielder signed for around £15million during the summer. Not cheap but for a player of his quality hardly pricey – even allowing for his age and recent injuries.
But, according to German magazine Bild, the actual price agreed by both clubs was closer to around £6m – a cool million less than the fee United paid for Bebe.
If the player performs as well as he has so far this season, that £6m could prove to be the best piece of business of the whole summer, Pedro or no Pedro.
