United suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Wolves
Manchester United fans were left fuming after Manchester United’s 1-0 home defeat to Wolves on Monday night.
Ralf Rangnick’s side welcomed Wolves to Old Trafford, with Cristiano Ronaldo named as captain in the absence of Harry Maguire.
The away side dominated for large periods in the first-half of the tie, registering 19 shots in the first 45 minutes as United struggled to piece together any meaningful attacks.
Bruno Lage’s men started the second-half on top and looked the most likely to score, eventually getting their reward in the 82nd minute when João Moutinho stroked his shot past David de Gea in the United goal.
The defeat is the Red Devils’ first under the management of interim boss Rangnick, but many people have questioned his sides’ performances in recent weeks – despite securing a win and a draw against Norwich and Newcastle respectively.
Writing on Twitter during the second half, Sky Sports pundit and former United defender Gary Neville said: “It’s not good. It really isn’t!”

Another user stated: “Rangnick is a massive coward btw. Taking off Greenwood when all Cavani had today was xHairFlicks showed me all I need to know.”

A third person criticised United for lacking ‘redemption’, saying: “United are absolutely without redemption. It’s quite the feat to wreck every single footballer in your employ, but we’ve managed to do it. Level completed. I think it’s become an unsolvable mess. The next manager and who is signed or sold are complete irrelevances.”

A fifth user slammed the home side for making ‘Joao Moutinho look like prime Iniesta’ and ‘Adama Traore look like prime Messi’, stating: “Got dominated by Wolves(!) at home(!), Made 35 year-old Joao Moutinho look like prime Iniesta. Made a mediocre Adama Traore look like prime Messi.Majority of the clowns you pay 200-300k a week are not good enough to play in Bassam’s Dhivehi League.”
