Man Utd make seven changes from Rostov game as they take on Middlesbrough

Some enforced changes for United

Tom Victor

It is all change for Manchester United and Jose Mourinho as they travel to the Riverside Stadium with their precious sixth place run at stake.

Failure to beat Middlesbrough would see United end a weekend outside the top six for the first time since the days of Queen Victoria, or so it seems, following Everton’s win over Hull.

And Mourinho has made seven changes from the team that edged past FC Rostov to set up a Europa League quarter-final meeting with Anderlecht.

First choice goalkeeper David de Gea returns after being rested, while the injured Paul Pogba makes way for Marouane Fellaini and Marcus Rashford starts in place of the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Middlesbrough, meanwhile, have a couple of familiar faces to United fans as they line up for their first game since the departure of manager Aitor Karanka.

Former Red Devils Victor Valdes and Fabio both start, while former Manchester City man Alvaro Negredo gets the nod up front and ex-Liverpool duo Antonio Barragan and Stewart Downing are among the starting XI.
