He's undergoing a medical tonight

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s move to Liverpool looks set to be confirmed imminently.

After a fee was reportedly agreed between Arsenal and Chelsea for the transfer of the England international, Oxlade-Chamberlain apparently turned down the chance to move across London to Stamford Bridge in favour of a switch to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

The Telegraph report that Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to undergo a medical on Wednesday evening after the Gunners accepted a £35 million fee for the versatile 24-year-old.

Oxlade-Chamberlain will join up with the England squad tomorrow in Malta, where the side’s World Cup Qualifier will take place the following evening.

But considering that the transfer window will close on Thursday evening, the player was forced to finalise his transfer away from the Emirates before he jetted off.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s management company, Colossal Sports Management, went public with the announcement of his next destination before deleting the tweet shortly after.

Thursday is expected to see plenty of late drama, with Liverpool proving one of the more active parties in the final few days of the transfer window.

Klopp has already secured the club-record signing of long-term target Naby Keita, who will move to Anfield next season, and one final attempt to bring in Virgil van Dijk is expected before the 11pm deadline tomorrow.
