After 10 years, Silva has left City
When David Silva joined Manchester City in the summer of 2010, the club was on the beginning of a journey.
Recently taken over by Sheikh Mansour and with manager Roberto Mancini at the helm for his second season at the Etihad, the club had its sights set on becoming the best team in Manchester, but remained a way off.
A decade on, City are the undisputed kings of the city, despite a resurgence from Manchester United, and Silva has been integral in that realisation of the club’s ambition.
His style of play has had an extraordinary influence on the Premier League, which at the time of his arrival remained a league that many considered to be too physical for a player of his style and frame.
He leaves England as one of the most influential players in recent history, and will be fondly remembered by City fans and football fans alike.
