Manchester United confirm throwback motif as next season’s away shirt is made official

It was acceptable in the 90s

Confirmed!

This is what the likes of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Co. are going to be sporting for trips on the road throughout the 2017/18 season as adidas have officially revealed Manchester United’s brand new away kit.

In a bold departure from the current away strip, which is a bold blue with red trim, United have thrown back to yesteryear with a stunning shirt for Jose Mourinho’s second season in charge.

The new top harkens back to the early 1990s, when the likes of Denis Irwin, Mark Hughes and Paul Ince sported an innovative faded blue number with a design not seen before.

Ditching blue entirely, United’s new away shirt will be black and white but is of the same motif that the Red Devils sported in the 1991/92 season, and United fans will be delighted to learn that it’s already for sale on the club’s website.

We’ve had to rely on leaked images for United’s home jersey thus far, although confirmation on what will be worn at Old Trafford next season is expected in the coming weeks.

It’s safe to say that the announcement went down very well with United supporters.
