Man United fans aren’t entirely thrilled about spending £30m on Brazil’s next superstar

Manchester United fans will have to be pretty happy with the club’s summer transfer business.

Eric Bailly won man of the match on his Premier League debut, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic has two goals in two games. And the best of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba is yet to come.

They hardly need to add any more, but if a hot young Brazilian forward is available then it can’t hurt, right?

Well, not everyone’s so sure.

19-year-old Gabriel Barbosa, or Gabigol to his friends, has been linked with a £30m move, and there’s certainly some appetite for the Santos player.

The teenager is currently representing his country at the Olympic Games, and scored twice in the 4-0 group stage victory over Denmark.

Throw in his one-in-three record at club level and you can see why people are excited.

But not everyone is thrilled.

In fact, it wouldn’t be a football rumour on the internet if we didn’t have naysayers finding a problem with their club bringing in one of the world’s most in-demand young talents.

As you might have guessed, it all comes back to Jose Mourinho’s reputation with youngsters. Some fear the arrival of Gabigol would see another young star, Marcus Rashford, sidelined.

Mourinho has already suggested Rashford is a big part of his plans, along with Memphis. Is there room for another talented young forward at the club?
