Bastian Schweinsteiger is on his way to MLS.
Schweinsteiger has left Manchester United for Chicago Fire, less than two years after joining the club from Bayern Munich.
In truth, his days were numbered from the moment Jose Mourinho became manager.
Mourinho originally banished the player from the first-team, before granting him a reprieve and reinstating him in the squad at the end of November.

The German World Cup winner has since made a few appearances, and even scored an overhead against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup back in January.
However, it was clear that he would be on his way out of the club when an offer came in.

Schweinsteiger will reportedly be paid $86,500 a week, and has agreed a one-year deal with the option of another year. The 32-year-old bid goodbye to the United fans with video message.
“I am sad to leave so many friends at Manchester United. But I am grateful to the club for allowing me the chance to take up the challenge at Chicago Fire.”
Thanks to all fans, the whole staff and my teammates of @ManUtd! I will never forget my time with the club, but now it’s time for a change! pic.twitter.com/zYn2o5Cjsk

Schweinsteiger will be fondly remembered by United fans, despite not excelling on the pitch.
The German behaved impeccably when he was frozen out of the team and genuinely seemed to be a fan of the club.
United fans paid tribute to the midfielder on Twitter.
If the Schweinsteiger report is true and he is leaving Man. U, best of luck to him with the Chicago Fire. #MUFC

Bastian; one that created such a buzz. And then badly fizzled out. A lesson that it's not the name but what they can offer MUFC.

Nothing but class shown by Bastian Schweinsteiger in his farewell video. A million Rand a week at Chicago Fire will see him land well 👌🏽
