Jose Mourinho certainly believes the hype.
Moussa Dembele has already earned many fans for his breakneck breakthrough at Celtic Park and, seemingly, ‘The Special One’ is chief among them.
Hitting double figures for the season before November even starts will do that for a young striker.
According to a report in The Sun, Manchester United sent a scout to the Highlands on Wednesday night in the hope of seeing Dembele in action.
Talent-spotter Stephen McCarthy was in attendance with the assignment of figuring out if the young Frenchman was the real deal.
He would have been disappointed for the first hour of action as Dembele played no part, sat on the bench for the first 58 minutes of Celtic’s away clash with Ross County.
But after warming up, he took to the pitch and did what he does best.
The 20-year-old scored at the very death in a routine 4-0 victory for the Hoops and would have earned a certain tick beside his name after finding the net for the fifteenth time this season.
Dembele recently played a starring role in victories over Celtic’s Old Firm rivals Rangers, hitting a hat-trick in the league last month before knocking them out of the League Cup with the only goal of the game last week.
And if he does end up making the move south of the border, his double against Manchester City in the Champions League group stages will have done no harm whatsoever to his chances of endearing himself to the Old Trafford faithful.
