It certainly looks like David De Gea’s days at Old Trafford are numbered.
It was reported last week that the Manchester United goalkeeper was the subject of a £60 million bid from Real Madrid, but that initial approach was rejected by the Red Devils.

According to a report in the Sunday Times, United have slapped a £66 million price-tag on the Spanish stopper.
Considering the considerable financial clout enjoyed by Real Madrid, one would imagine that they will promptly return to meet that asking figure because they will not miss out on their top transfer target for the sake of a few million pounds.
Current Real number one, Keylor Navas, came in for some criticism on Saturday night when he failed to get to Mario Mandzukic’s acrobatic effort in the first half of the Champions League final.

If Real Madrid part ways with £66 million, it will be far and away the most money ever spent on a goalkeeper with the current world record standing at £33 million, for Gianluigi Buffon, although that figure is expected to be exceeded when the details of Manchester City’s deal for Ederson are confirmed in the coming days.
Another potential outcome of this deal is that United pursue a swap involving striker Alvaro Morata, who is believed to be a target for Jose Mourinho in this transfer window.
Last week, it was reported that United had ended their interest in Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann as they changed their priority from acquiring a No. 10 to another No. 9.
