Some football clubs will go to great lengths to remind fans of better times, even bringing out tribute kits to deliver that nostalgia kick.
The last couple of years have been trying times for Manchester United supporters, with just the one Champions League campaign and a paltry £200m or so spent on new players.
To remind the Old Trafford faithful of better times, new kit manufacturer Adidas has unveiled a third strip which reminds us (and plenty of others) of the company’s last United effort, which was binned in 1992.
Bringing back old favourites from the 90s seems to have been a common theme of late, and we’re not just talking about timeless classics like Tim Sherwood, Panini stickers and FIFA corruption allegations.
Football only skims the surface of the 90s revival, as we quickly discovered…
It’s all in the game
In gaming terms there’s nothing more 90s than Tomb Raider, and the latest Lara Croft release could be set to go up against another 90s reboot in the form of Fallout 4.
Elsewhere, the Tamagotchi has made a comeback in the form of an Apple Watch app while Gameboys have also returned – though perhaps not as you remember.

Twin Peaks and twins’ peak
Fun House, a true staple of children’s TV before the turn of the millennium, is giving us a reminder of what we missed with a one-off return this month.

Also, we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves as there have been plenty of false dawns already, but we seem set for the return of Twin Peaks, a show as 90s as dial-up internet and Brad Friedel with hair.
A crafty remake
It’s not just TV shows from the era that are getting an upgrade: cult classic films Point Break and The Craft are both set to be brought back to life in the not-too-distant future.
While some fans are excited about the new versions, others are less keen…
I have just heard rumours that The Craft is getting a remake? These are my feels: pic.twitter.com/e4puwvU5en

Britpop’s not dead
The thrilling combo of Tony Blair and D:Ream’s ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ is long dead, but we’re pretty happy with that quality control as far as music is concerned.
Blur and Oasis (well, Liam Gallagher at least) are on their way back for a TFI Friday special, which is enough to get excited about in itself.
Presidential deja vu
We haven’t had a Bush v Clinton political battle for a whole two decades, so it’s nice of America to remind us of what we’ve been missing.
At the time of writing there’s no indication of whether the Perot family dynasty will produce a third candidate for next year’s election.

Some might call it ‘old hat’, but we just think things were better back then.
