Why are Manchester United fans *so* angry?
We get that the Red Devils’ form hasn’t been particularly stellar over the festive period, with a string of uninspiring draws seeing them fall further away from Manchester City as they drop into third place in the table. But it could be worse, couldn’t it?
Liverpool supporters seem full of beans – and they’re below United in the table. Spurs followers are far more balanced and optimistic, and they too trail the Old Trafford outfit. So what excuse have Mourinho’s moaners got for being so very mardy as we enter 2018?
The club’s official Twitter account tried to raise spirits with a pretty harmless and inoffensive tweet heralding in the New Year as the clocks struck midnight. They showed a gif of Ander Herrera helping his goalkeeper David de Gea with his gloves, accompanied by the message:
Getting ready for 2018 like…#MUFC

But for some reason, this caused angry United fans from around the world to respond with anger and a string of snarky comments. Their New Year’s resolution seemed to be venting their rage at the official social media account. Here’s just a snippet of the sniping remarks. HNY indeed…
