But the full-back is obviously a little more adventurous for Italy.
The 25-year-old isn’t known for scoring goals. He notched just three in 133 while at Torino, but this one could be the most crucial of his career yet.
He picked it up outside the box and rifled home to send Italy 3-1 against Azerbaijan and almost certainly seal the vital win they needed to qualify for Euro 2016.
