Manny Pacquiao was robbed of his WBO welterweight title overnight

Outlanded Jeff Horn by some margin

Boxing can be a right bitch at times.

Manny Pacquiao travelled to Brisbane on Saturday night to take on the relatively unheralded, Queensland-born fighter Jeff Horn.

We bet he regrets that decision.

‘Pac-man’ ended up losing his WBO welterweight title via a controversial decision that has shocked the boxing community.

Horn claimed a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards (117-111, 115-113 115-113) to upset the considerable odds and continue his undefeated record against his most high-profile opponent to date.

And while Pacquiao definitely knew that he’d been in a fight after the final bell, he dominated for large portions against an unfathomably tough Horn.

The Aussie’s heart was applauded, following a stubborn refusal to go down in a ninth round when he looked in serious danger.

One look at the stats from the fight will tell you everything you need to know about how surprising the decision was.

Five years on from falling victim to a robbery against Timothy Bradley, Pacquiao had to watch in disbelief as the referee hoisted his opponent’s hand to the skies in triumph.

In a stop-start fight in front of tens of thousands at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, the latest eyebrow-raiser from the world of boxing took place.

Given the amount of money on the line for these competitors and the legacy that legends like Pacquiao risk against lesser known opponents, fighters deserve to have faith that the correct result will be registered.

They leave everything they have in the ring and too often, judges fuck it all up.
