United were beaten by Atletico Madrid on Tuesday
Marcus Rashford confronted abusive Manchester United fans following their defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
United were beaten 1-0 at Old Trafford to lose 2-1 on aggregate and crash out at the last 16 stage – sparking yet another inquest into another miserable campaign.
As fans waited outside to let the players know their thoughts and feelings on another abject display, it was Rashford who received the bulk of the anger.
The 24-year-old has reportedly been considering his future at the club due to a lack of game time of late, however performances have not been up to standard of late, leading to criticism from the United fanbase.
In a video recorded by a fan, one supporter can be heard shouting “Come on Rashford! After that performance, come on let’s hear you.”
Initially, the forward continued to walk on before turning around and walk towards the group of fans waiting. Rashford was eventually prevented from going any further by the security, but could be heard shouting back “Come round the back then.”

Rashford’s response left fans feeling even more angered by his reaction, with many conversing with each other about the 24-year-old’s performance on the pitch – with many of the comments negative.
The defeat to Atletico now means United will inevitably go trophyless for yet another year and haven’t picked up any silverware in five seasons – the longest period since 1974.

All that Ralf Rangnick’s side have left to play for is a place inside the top four, but with stiff competition from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and outsiders West Ham United, there are some doubts as to whether they will even manage that.
