While Manchester United’s academy rightly holds a strong reputation, you might not know as much about Fletcher Moss Rangers CFC.
But perhaps you should, as the junior football club, based in the Manchester suburb of Didsbury, has an enviable production line of players.
Marcus Rashford is the latest to hit the headlines with his goalscoring exploits for Manchester United against Arsenal, but he’s not even the only Fletcher Moss alumnus to score in that game.
With Rashford and Danny Welbeck having passed through the local youth team during their respective childhoods, as well as a number of other players with Premier League experience (mostly for Manchester United), it’s clearly often a sign of real talent.
