Marcus Rashford rewarded with seven-figure Nike deal

Rewarded for a great season

Just 12 months ago, few outside Manchester even knew who Marcus Rashford was.

But the young striker has burst onto the scene, scoring eight goals in his first 18 Manchester United games and earning a place in England’s Euro 2016 squad.

And the teenager has been richly rewarded for his breakthrough campaign, with the Sun reporting that he has earned himself a five-year deal with Nike worth a cool £2m.

The seven-figure deal comes barely a month after Rashford put pen to paper on a new Manchester United contract, and the forward certainly looks likely to play a big part in the plans of new manager Jose Mourinho.

Rashford, who doesn’t turn 19 until October, famously scored twice on his Europa League, Premier League and senior international debuts.

His first England goal came less than three minutes into the victory over Australia, but the teenager was unable to add to that one strike in his two substitute appearances at Euro 2016.

He was already part of Nike’s roster, which also includes fellow England internationals Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge, and club team-mate Wayne Rooney, and the new deal will likely keep him on board for a few years to come.
