Racist chants were allegedly heard as Chelsea beat Watford 2-1 at Vicarage road
Maurizio Sarri has said that “we must fight together against the stupid people” after more allegations of racist chants from Chelsea supporters during their win over Watford on Boxing Day.
Chelsea emerged 2-1 victors after a brace from Eden Hazard, but their victory was tarnished by vocal minority of fans, journalist Dan Levene reported..
A small section of the away crowd sung racist chants, according to Levene’s, though the majority did not.
These allegations come just a week after UEFA began an investigation into Chelsea fans’ behaviour after travelling supporters were accused of anti-semitic chanting during their trip to MOL Vidi in Budapest.
And, regrettably, another bout of racist chanting from a section of the Chelsea crowd. The majority of fans in the away end, who are not singing it, would be well advised to take action against those who are dirtying theirs, and the club's name.

Asked whether he had a comment on the allegations during his post-match press conference, Sarri said: “No, because I didn’t hear anything. But I think first of all, I want to speak with my club. I don’t want to generalise.
“For 99 per cent of cases our fans are wonderful in every community there are some stupid and altogether we have to fight against the stupid people but not against the Chelsea fans.”
Less than a month ago, Raheem Sterling was the victim of alleged racist abuse at Stamford Bridge during Chelsea’s win over Manchester City, prompting him to post a statement on Instagram criticising the reporting of some black players’ private lives from some parts of the media, saying it “helps fuel racism and aggressive behaviour”.
