McGregor has been released on bail
UFC star Conor McGregor has been charged by police in Ireland after being arrested for dangerous driving.
McGregor was detained in west Dublin on Tuesday evening. He had been driving his Bentley Continental GT.
As reported by the Irish Independent, the 33-year-old, who already has several road traffic convictions against his name, was pulled over by police and arrested for road traffic offences.
McGregor had his vehicle temporarily seized
He had been driving along the N4 between Lucan and Palmerstone at the time and his vehicle was also seized following the incident – though has since been returned to him.
McGregor was taken to Lucan garda station following his arrest. He is then understood to have been charged with dangerous driving before being released on bail.
He is expected to appear before a district court next month in relation to the charge.
“Mr McGregor was driving to the gym when he was stopped by gardaà for alleged road traffic violations,” a spokesperson told the Independent. “He passed the drug and alcohol tests taken at the station.”
“Gardaà arrested a man aged in his 30s in relation an incident of dangerous driving in the Palmerstown area yesterday evening, Tuesday 22nd March 2022,” a police spokesperson told the newspaper.
“The man was taken to Lucan Garda Station where he was later charged. He has been released pending an appearance before Blanchardstown District Court at a later date.”
