Mesut Ozil has assisted 15 goals so far this season in the Premier League.
There’s no denying that the German is in mighty form and playing some of the best football of his life, and must be considered a real contender for Player of the Year.
But as we hurtle towards the end of 2015, there is a young Belgian hot on his heels to steal away his crown as the man who lays goals on a platter for his teammates.
Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne is a fantasy football manager’s wet dream as he has now aided eight goals in the Premier League since his summer time move to Eastlands.
His latest two assists on Saturday afternoon in the 4-1 win over Sunderland means he’s slowly catching up with Ozil in the assist stakes this campaign

However if you take the last 12 months, he’s out on his own in terms of setting up his teammates to hit the back of the net…
Kevin De Bruyne has now registered 28 league assists since the start of 2014/15, more than any player in Europe’s top five leagues. #MCFC
