At 34 years of age, Michael Carrick will know as much as anyone that his trophy-filled time at Manchester United is drawing to a close.
Following Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Everton, the midfielder was reminded of this via a slightly harsh tweet, which pointed out that the midfielder’s lack of mobility is reminiscent of an arthritis sufferer more than double his age.

Fortunately, Carrick didn’t appear to offended by the tweet, adding that if anything, such a description was flattering.
Really??
I'd say that's very harsh on the 70 year old man myself. 😂 https://t.co/dyRJE8rafi— Michael Carrick (@carras16) April 23, 2016
It’s always a refreshing change to see a footballer with a sense of humour. Well played.
