The Arsenal boss is angry that word of the confrontation reached the media
Mikel Arteta has warned there will be “consequences” for the source responsible for leaking a story about a training ground incident between Dani Ceballos and David Luiz last week.
A report from The Athletic claimed the Arsenal teammates clashed following a challenge in training last week, with Luiz said to have drawn blood from the Spaniard.
Ceballos was quick to dismiss the report as “fake” on Twitter and his manager has now downplayed the confrontation, describing it as “nothing”.
“I don’t like the fact that that incident comes out at all,” Arteta said, clearly more concerned with the fact that word of the incident had been leaked to the media.
“I will find out where it is coming from and if that is the case, that goes completely against what I expect from each other, the privacy and the confidentiality that we need, and there will be consequences.”
“Training is very competitive and issues happen a lot of times,” Arteta later added. “Those things get resolved immediately within the team and there is not much to say.
“There is no problem at all.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Sunday.
They will look to get back on track after slipping to a 3-0 humbling at home by Aston Villa in their final outing before players reported for their national side.
