We don’t think he’s got anything to say.
You’ve got to feel for BT Sport’s Des Kelly here. With a face like thunder, Jose Mourinho reluctantly took his place for the compulsory post-match television interview.
But if Kelly thought his interviewee was about to open up about yet another Premier League defeat – this time a 3-1 home trouncing by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool – he was sadly mistaken.
Mourinho continually repeated that he had nothing to say despite the BT Sports man’s best efforts, but the Chelsea manager’s one deviation from his truculent script spoke volumes.
“Do you not think it’s time to have a chat to the fans and give them a message?” he was asked. “The fans are not stupid,” was the response. Kelly prodded further with, “We heard them chanting your name…” The response again was a simple, “The fans are not stupid.”
Whether this cryptic statement represents an admission that the fans are aware of end times, or whether it is siege mentality defiance from Mourinho will become clearer in coming days and weeks…
"I have nothing to say!" Mourinho refuses to discuss any aspect of @ChelseaFC's loss to @LFC with @DesKellyBTS. https://t.co/CNOFABGgvk
