Naby Keita scores Liverpool’s fastest ever Premier League goal

Naby Keita opened the scoring for Liverpool tonight with just 15 seconds on the clock after some excellent pressing from Liverpool's forward line

Lord knows what Huddersfield were thinking

Everyone knows how Liverpool play. They like to press aggressively from the front and pinch the ball off you high up the field. And they’re really good at it. Everyone knows this. Sky Sports don’t shut up about it. My mum knows what a Gegenpress is.

It therefore beggars belief why Huddersfield decided to try playing out from the back in such a lax manner in the opening phase of play in tonight’s Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Predictably, it didn’t work. Naby Keita crept up on Huddersfield’s holding midfielder, deflected his attempted pass to Mohamed Salah, who played it back into the path of Keita, and Liverpool’s number 8 made no mistake in finding the net after just 15 seconds.

Sadio Mané doubled Liverpool’s lead before the break with a header just after 20 minutes had passed, putting to bed any hope anyone had of Liverpool fucking this up.

And then just to squash any remaining hope of some miraculous comeback, Mo Salah made it 3-0 with a delicate lob on the stroke of half time. Not a bad way to mark his 100th game for Liverpool.
