RIP Diego

The news stunned the footballing world, with fans from all over the globe coming together to mourn the loss of an icon.
Maradona was best loved in Naples, where he played longer than any other spell in his career. Taking Napoli from relative anonymity in Italy to domestic glory, while also leading his native Argentina to World Cup glory has immortalised him as a legend in both places.
And now, Naples mayor Luigi De Magistris has said the San Paolo stadium should be named after Maradona.
“Let’s name the San Paolo after Diego,” he said, adding: “Diego made our people dream, he redeemed Naples with his genius.”
