Let the war of words commence for a third time.
Nate Diaz has kicked his ongoing rivalry with Conor McGregor back into gear with a scorching assesment of his Irish foe’s boxing debut.
Diaz was in Floyd Mayweather’s dressing room after last week’s Money Fight between the boxing legend and the UFC lightweight champion.

And Diaz’s was the only name on the UFC roster uttered by ‘The Notorious’ when asked what’s next during his humble post-fight press conference in Las Vegas. Despite the fact that an interim 155lbs champion will be decided by the time McGregor is ready to return to competition, he wants the realisation of a trilogy with Diaz if his next bout so happens to take place in the Octagon.
“I’ve got a trilogy bout with Nate Diaz sitting there,” McGregor said, with the score poised at one victory apiece for the two most popular lightweights on the planet.
And the Stockton fighter took to social media on Tuesday evening to slam McGregor for his failure to back up his claim that he would knock out the undefeated Mayweather in his pugilism debut.

“He punched himself out the same way he lost in the UFC,” Diaz wrote. “There was no learning going on.
“Overpromotion bullshit… get off the nuts… this the shit I’m talking about. Bruce Lee would’ve never lost like that #realninjashit”
McGregor has demanded that, unlike their previous two meetings, a third fight with Diaz will have to take place at 155lbs rather than 170lbs but that would not be an issue for him, considering the fact that Diaz has spent the most of his career at lightweight.
And Diaz, meanwhile, is upping his purse demands for his next outing according to his coach Richard Perez.
“At least $20 million, $30 million,” Perez told Submission Radio. “Come on. UFC’s making a whole lot of money, a whole lot of money and they’re pocketing it. They’re giving more to McGregor, so it’s not fair because it takes two in that ring to draw a crowd – I mean, a good two fighters. It’s just like Mayweather when he fought Berto. It was not even sold out at all. It was embarrassing. It’s because that guy couldn’t draw a crowd. See, that’s what I’m saying, it’s the fighters that draw the crowd, and Nathan and McGregor, third one would be outstanding. Everyone knows that. So he needs to get paid at least $30 million easy.”
