Manchester United fans are hopeful that some Ed Woodward heroics in the January transfer window will turn their season around.
Goals have been the main problem for Louis van Gaal since opening day and supporters’ fingers will be aching after crossing them for the arrival of high-profile names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Robert Lewandowski.
United have been linked with everybody and anybody who can strike a ball and one less-than-marquee name has confirmed that the club are making moves to bring him to Old Trafford.
Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez has revealed that the Red Devils are interested in procuring his services when the transfer window officially opens in January.
Perez has been one of few shining lights for Steve McClaren’s side in a tumultuous start to his St James’ Park tenure and the Spaniard’s talents have not gone unnoticed in Manchester, or London.
“There is truth in the talk about interest in me. It’s rewarding for me,” Perez told Radio Club Tenerife.
“There is much truth in the interest from Tottenham and Manchester United, but my place is at Newcastle.”
Is Ayoze Perez the right man to stop the goal drought at Old Trafford? Are Man United even capable of prizing him from Newcastle. Time will tell…
