The Brazilian left the field in tears
Neymar is a doubt for Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League tie with Manchester United after leaving the field with an ankle injury during a French Cup tie with Strasbourg.
The former Barcelona forward twisted his right ankle with half an hour of the game to play. Clearly in discomfort, he received treatment on the pitch before eventually hobbling off to be replaced by Moussa Diaby.
Although the severity of the injury isn’t known at this early stage, it appears Neymar faces a race to be fit for the first leg of their meeting with United, which takes place at Old Trafford on February 12. The return leg will be played in Paris on March 6.

PSG are already sweating on the fitness of midfielder Marco Verratti for the last-16 clash with United. The Italian midfielder also picked up an ankle injury which forced him off in the 9-0 victory against Ligue 1 bottom club Guingamp last weekend.
Manager Thomas Tuchel described the injury as “serious” after the game. “It’s the worst thing that could have happened to us,” he admitted.
Though a scan has been conducted, PSG have yet to confirm how long they anticipate Verratti to be out for.
‘Marco Verratti’s MRI scan conducted after the match against Guingamp confirmed a twisted left ankle without any further damage,’ a statement posted on their website said on Sunday.
‘The evolution of the injury over the coming days with treatment and further examinations will allow the club to establish how long the player will need to fully recover.’
