Neymar owes more money than anyone else on Spain’s tax blacklist with €34.6 million (£31.6M) in unpaid taxes, according to an official document published Wednesday.
Out of thousands of individuals on the list, Neymar’s sum is reportedly the highest.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward, who join France’s top side from Barcelona in 2017, spent four years at Camp Nou, having moved from Santos in 2013.
Spanish authorities have in the past investigated his move from Brazil to Barca, a transfer which the club officially stated was worth €57.1 million. Spanish authorities, however, believe that Barca paid €83.3m for the then 21 -year-old.
According to report in France 24, Spanish tax authorities are now investigating Neymar’s transfers to and from Barca.
Four years ago, the Brazilian was ordered to pay €46m in unpaid taxes owed from his contracts with Santos, Barcelona and Nike between 2011 and 2013.
It was also claimed that Neymar failed to pay at least a staggering €54.1m through his management companies during a spell between 2012 and 2014.
Following the initial investigations into his finances, Neymar’s father and agent said: “We will respect the contract he has with the club, but we don’t want a renewal without peace of mind.”
He left Barcelona for Ligue 1 less than two years later.
