Roy Hodgson is definitely a bigger fan of experience than he is of form.
Heads were scratched raw and eyebrows raised to fringes when England’s final Euro 2016 squad was released on Tuesday afternoon.
The glaring inclusion was that of Jack Wilshere, who has started just one game all season for Arsenal, being named ahead of Premier League winner Danny Drinkwater.
Drinkwater had been a stalwart for Claudio Ranieri’s giantkilling Leicester throughout the season and was in many Premier League Team of the Year selections from fans and pundits alike.
But Roy Hodgson is a Wilshere guy through and through, and Drinkwater paid the price.
It’s safe to say the internet was left a little bit bemused by the decision.
Roy Hodgson is Drunk….

Got to feel for Drinkwater. Wilshere stealing a living at the moment, hasn't played all season, looks miles off the pace. #England #Euro2016

How the hell can Jack Wilshere be included over Premier League winner Danny Drinkwater. Hodgson's lost the plot.

Drinkwater must be raging. Hodgson picks a quarter-fit Wilshere and Henderson ahead of him…
