Footballers have a lot of down time while on international duty
Being part of a national team squad is every footballer’s dream. There is no greater honour than representing one’s country, as has been testified by countless professionals.
But players have a lot of time to fill when they’re not on the training pitch or at a game. Previously, players would have played cards, pool, table tennis etc. during their down time. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon that players will bring a games console in a case with a portable screen so they can play Fortnite and the like in their hotel rooms.
Some players have a more sophisticated taste in gaming though, like French wonderkid Ousmane Dembélé, who has been spending his free time in Russia playing Football Manager.
As revealed by Get French Football News today:
Ousmane Dembélé's substitute role for France & the long journeys across Russia have led him to create an entirely new team on Football Manager called Winchester FC in England: "This is my new project, there's going to be a South American atmosphere in the stadium."

His choice of team may come as a surprise, but as Football Manager enthusiasts will know, there is no greater feeling of satisfaction than taking a team of minnows from the bottom to worldwide domination.
One thing Dembélé may struggle with, however, is achieving his goal of creating a South American atmosphere in Winchester might be a tad unrealistic. You can’t accuse him of being unambitious though.
