Owen Hargreaves is one of the rare few to have won a Champions League title with two different clubs.
The former England midfielder picked up a winners’ medal in 2001 with Bayern Munich and then again with Manchester United in 2008, so he knows a thing or two about what it takes to go far in the tournament.
Just as he was going live on BT Sport, Hargreaves didn’t realise the cameras were on him and asked: “How can you put your only Champions League winner on the bench?” in reference to Louis van Gaal’s decision to not start Michael Carrick.
The only problem is that United have two former winners in their starting line up – former Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata and Hargreaves’s former Bayern team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Of course, Twitter let him know all about his mistake.
Hahaha not only was Hargreaves caught out there but what he said was wrong. Carrick isn't the only CL winner. Schweinsteiger & Mata

“How can you leave the only Champions League winner on the bench?”
What about Juan Mata and Bastian Schweinsteiger, Hargreaves? Eh?
