Did Graeme not get what he was hoping for from Santa this Christmas?
Or is he simply so determined not to allow Arsenal to enjoy any moment on a football pitch that he has to pick holes in *everything*?
The former Liverpool skipper has long had a bee in his bonnet about Arsenal’s lack of steel and their failure to convert their obvious collective talent into a trophy winning machine.
Today Olivier Giroud scored one of THE goals ever seen in the Premier League – an outrageous scorpion flick over his own head after Alexis Sanchez’s cross was behind him.
After being asked whether it was one of the best goals ever, or best goal of the season, dour old Graeme who was on pundit duty for Sky Sports replied dismissively: “Best goal in this game.”
Remember at that point it was only 1-0 as well.
He then went on to complain about Mathieu Flamini’s defending – although he bizarrely called him “Fellaini” throughout until Jamie Carragher, who is having none of Souness’ mean spirit, corrects him.
“Well, Fellaini [he means Flamini] doesn’t put his head on it.”
Souness then turns to Carragher and adds: “You were a defender, the only thing he can be thinking there is I’m going to help this towards my own goal. He has pulled his head away. No?”
Sheesh, tough crowd, eh Olivier?
