Is Paul Pogba’s return closer than we think?
And, if so, do Manchester United want to keep his comeback a secret?
On Sunday afternoon, Pogba took to Twitter to send United supporters into overdrive with an unexpected update on his fitness.
The French midfielder has been out of action since mid-September after picking up a hamstring injury during the Red Devils’ Champions League group opener against Basel.
Nobody has been able to identify a targeted return date for 24-year-old but it certainly looked like he had put the injury behind him in the Twitter video which was promptly deleted but not before it was captured by a handful of fans.

The clip – accompanied by the caption “Baby I missed you” – showed Pogba pulling on his boots and taking part in some light sprint exercises but, for whatever reason, the post was almost immediately pulled down.
He will almost definitely not be ready for United’s trip to Benfica midweek but with clashes against Spurs and Chelsea on the horizon, he will likely be available for at least the latter fixture.
The tweet came on the same day that manager Jose Mourinho made an unusual comment on Pogba’s stance on his place in the France team.
Mourinho claimed that Pogba might be unhappy with playing alongside international compatriot Blaise Matuidi.
“He can make football history,” Mourinho said of United’s record signing during an interview with Telefoot. “He has talent.
“We have the balance in midfield to occupy space better [this season]. [Partnered] with Matuidi [in the France team], I think he isn’t happy.”
